Dental Floss to the Rescue

This inexpensive staple can really help you around the house. If you find yourself in need, take a look at the list below. Here are ten different uses for dental floss in your home.

1. When cookies are stuck on a baking sheet, use a piece of dental floss to release the, Just slide the floss under the cookies. You’ll loosen them without any breaks.

2. Use dental floss to hang picture frames, wind chimes and any other decorations or accents that need to be hung. Double the floss for heavy frames.

3. If you have a mesh bag or other mesh item with a tear, don’t throw it away. You can repair the damage with a bit of dental floss. I tried this on our pack and play, and it worked well.

4. Make clean slices in your food with dental floss. This works especially well for cheese, hard boiled eggs and cake.

5. Use dental floss to string beads for jewelry making or kids crafts.

6. Use dental floss in place of kitchen twine to tie up a turkey or chicken. It is a lot easier to find when you need it.

7. Use dental floss in place of sewing thread to sew on buttons, repair tears in comforters, attach hooks to clothing, or anywhere you want to make sure that you have a strong bond.

8. If your ring is stuck on your finger, you can use dental floss to get it off. Simply tie a piece on to the end of your finger. Slide the floss down until it is under the ring. Then slide the ring off. It really works.

9. Use dental floss to replace a broken fishing line.

10. If your umbrella fabric comes loose from the frame, use a piece of dental floss to tie or sew it back in place.
