Post-Holiday Travel Deals

Yes, Virginia, there is a way to spare your wallet when visiting New York City during the holidays.

Okay, maybe not Christmas and New Year’s, but you can definitely save once January 4th rolls around.

Rooms for $99 per night on the Upper West Side! It is possible thanks to the newly renovated, Moroccan-themed Marrakech Hotel. From January 4 through February 28, 2010, you can score a room at the trendy boutique hotel for 20 percent off rack rates. In addition, with each reserved room, guests will receive two free tickets to the Top of the Rock, worth $42. The observatory soars 70 stories above the Big Apple and provides unobstructed, panoramic views of the world-famous city.

The hotel is located near Central Park and boasts 125 rooms, which feature white European bed linens, down comforters, flat-screen televisions, as well as massage shower heads in each bathroom. The hotel also features a Moroccan lounge and Sookk Thai Asian Restaurant.

The catch: A minimum two-night stay is required. Also, taxes and fees are extra.

If New York City’s winter weather doesn’t make the deal all that tempting, then consider heading down to Mexico. The recently renovated Hilton Mexico City Reforma is also offering amazing deals on rooms right now—-just $99 per night.

The 458-room downtown hotel is equipped with modern amenities, a large convention center, a spa, a fitness center, and indoor and outdoor swimming pools. What’s more, the weather in Mexico can’t be beat this time of year. Also, considering the standard rate at the Hilton Mexico City Reforma typically runs from $179 to $199, this special offer allows you to save more than 40 percent.

The catch: The offer expires February 28, 2010. Breakfast is not included, and taxes are an additional 17 percent.
