Celebrity chef Rachael Ray makes no secret of being an animal lover… or a food lover! She’s combined the two to offer a line of premium dog food called Nutrish.
The website proudly proclaims that the first ingredient in Nutrish is real meat — and backs it up by posting the full ingredient list. You’ll find healthy omega fatty acids, essential vitamins and minerals, and fiber for digestive health in the mix.
And if you’d like to give it a try, she’s giving out free samples. Just visit her Nutrish website (www.switchtonutrish.com) and fill in your address information. You’ll be offered the chance to download a coupon immediately for $3.50 off your first purchase OR have a sample sent to you.
Rachael Ray, you had me at “free”!
But really? What I like best about Nutrish is Ray’s plan to give all the proceeds from dog food sales back to pet charities. She’s a big fan of animal rescues like the ASPCA and California’s BAD RAP (Bay Area Doglovers Responsible About Pitbulls). Ray has a special place in her heart (and in her home!) for pit bulls, an often misunderstood breed. You can see her pit bull, Isaboo, right on the Nutrish label.
Right now, there are two available flavors of Nutrish: beef and brown rice or chicken and veggies. The one small problem with my free sample plan is that my dogs eat “sensitive stomach” food. That’s because Moose needs it — it’s easier to offer both dogs the same thing than to prepare two different dinners for my two different diners! Plus, if Moose sneaks a snack from Lally’s bowl, it won’t upset his stomach.
And I just found another small problem: according to the website’s “find a store” feature, nobody in my area is selling Nutrish right now. If the dogs like the Nutrish, I’ll try to find it somewhere — but for now, my free sample might be a one-time treat.
