The Facebook freebies continue to get more plentiful and more interesting. On Monday, March 1, be sure to become a fan of Nabisco Cookies for a coupon for free cookies when you buy one package of cookies and a gallon of milk. This is just the latest of many giveaways using social networking on Facebook. Previous giveaways on Facebook have included Stacey’s Chips, Oreos, Outback restaurants, Starbucks ice cream, and free eggs. You can get a dollar off Wheat Thins when you become a fan.
More and more advertisers are discovering that when you advertise on facebook, you can very easily determine who is interested in your product, and how fast they take to respond. It’s helpful to know how many people become fans, and how fast they do it. How many download a coupon, or give information to receive it? Once someone becomes a fan on facebook, this is reported in their news feed to their friends. Their friends then check out the page, and they become fans. It’s a marvelous way to create buzz about a product, and just see how the interest catches on.
