I promised you some Elliptical Trainer reviews and here is the first one. I was doing some web surfing this morning to price compare and I found the Nordic Track CXT 910 at Ebay.com. The auction was coming to a close, but the elliptical trainer sold for around $350 though it retails at $600. The fact that it was a good deal got my attention right away, so I did some investigating.
First and foremost, Nordic Track is an excellent name in fitness equipment. It’s got a lot of name recognition going for it. I called one of my local fitness stores and asked about it, they didn’t carry the model but one of their fitness experts recognized it and he gave me some information on it.
Of the inexpensive models of elliptical trainers, the Nordic Track CXT 910 is among one of the best. The modern day elliptical trainer actually evolved from the Nordic track ski machine – so they’ve been in the business for more than a while.
The CXT 910 comes equipped with the ability to use iFit technology and the readout console has a lot of useful details for the home workout. There are 6 programs available on it that come standard and more that are available through the iFit interactive workouts. The grips have cardio sensors in them to handle tracking your heart rate read out and there are different resistance and incline levels that you can use to vary the workout.
All in all, the CXT 910 is a good investment for a lot of features. Especially if the auction I found on Ebay happens to be repeated at another time. I’ve wanted an elliptical trainer for a while and this would make a great addition to my home gym. I asked about the frame and the construction, it’s very sturdy and the fitness expert at the Sports Authority indicated he’d owned one for six years with no problems.
So as you start checking out the elliptical trainers that are available, be sure to do an in store demonstration or three. You want to get a feel for the machine before you go out shopping for one, even online. Then when you locate the one you like – check out Overstock.Com and Ebay.com for some alternative shopping options.
Bear in mind that any elliptical trainer you order online is going to cost a pretty penny to ship – they are not light. But some local stores also offer good financing deals on the more expensive models and there are always sales. Another good tip, if you have your heart set on an elliptical trainer – ask for gift cards to your local fitness stores in lieu of other presents. You might get enough to offset the price considerably. If nothing else, it’s worth checking out:
