Two Top Teeth

I feel like shouting from the rooftops! I feel like taking out a full-page advertisement in a newspaper! I feel like jumping up and down in a public place while screaming: MY SON HAS FOUR TEETH!

I’m not entirely sure what this actually means for babies. Does this mean he’ll be eating steaks with Dad in the next couple of weeks? Does this mean that he’ll begin to start eating more adult foods with Mom and Dad? Does this mean that we’ll have be significantly more frightened about the possibility of him “biting off more than he can chew” and choking? The fears are endless but the pride is real!

I’m so proud of him. It’s not as if teeth are a sign of intelligence (are they?) but I’m certainly happy to be marking the milestones as he begins to grow older. For a number of weeks we’ve been smitten with his two bottom teeth. He drinks from glass cups now and it is always a joy to hear his little teeth clanking against the bottom of the glass as he takes in the big gulps. What new tricks will these top teeth add to his arsenal?

One of the most wonderful parts about his teeth are how cute they are. I’m wondering what these teeth will do to his smile? I’m sure they feel a little bit better now that they’ve cut through. My wife told me today that at the daycare he is referred to as “the happy baby.” It seems my son already has a nickname (something I never quite acquired) and I couldn’t be happier with what it says about my son. It also makes me so much more comfortable with daycare. Does anyone do dental molds of their children’s teeth as they get new ones? No? Too weird? Okay… I thought so. A picture will have to do. Once they’re showing I’ll get a picture. I can’t wait!
