Here are a few easy craft ideas. They are so simple, they don’t require a full page to describe, but they are fun to do.
Confetti Art
Purchase confetti or make your own tiny circles, squares, or any shape you like from scraps of construction paper or leftover wrapping paper. Glue dots together to form the outline of an image. Make a dot-to-dot picture, or a solid outline. Color the picture, or fill in the entire image with dots. You can also make cool designs rather than specific pictures.
Paper Bag Masks
Paper grocery bags make great masks. Be sure to cut the eye holes big enough so kids can see well when wearing them, and make sure to cut a large opening near the mouth. Masks can be decorated to look like animals, monsters, superheroes, or anything your children come up with. After making several masks, let your children put on a play.
Design a Family Crest
You and your children can design your very own family crest or a simple logo. Incorporate the first initial of your last name into the design. Make it as simple or intricate as you like. Use the design to make a plaque. As you create your crest or logo, teach your child the history of your last name or more about your family tree.
Construction Crafts
Cut craft foam into squares and rectangles. Cut small slits along the edges of each shape. This will make the pieces fit together. Use lots of colors and cut many different sizes. Your kids will have a blast creating unique structures. You can also do this project with cardboard from unneeded boxes you have lying around as a spur of the moment project if your kids get bored and you don’t have any craft foam, or don’t have time to run out and pick some up.
