Barnes & Noble is giving kids some incentive to keep reading over their summer vacation from school. Keep your children’s reading skills sharp by taking advantage of this great offer from Barnes & Noble.
Visit http://www.barnesandnoble.com/summerreading/index.asp and download the Passport to Summer Reading. Have your children read eight books and track it on their “passport”. They can read any type of book that they enjoy reading although it would probably be best if the majority were at their reading skill level.
When they are finished reading all eight books and Mom or Dad signs their “passport” they can go to Barnes & Noble to obtain a coupon to pick out their reward. The completed passport needs to be turned in to Barnes & Noble by September 7, 2010.
This offer is good for children in grades 1 through 6. This offer is limited to one free book coupon per child. The free book coupon is redeemable for the books on the designated list at http://www.barnesandnoble.com/help/help_cds2.asp?PID=33400.
Barnes & Noble is also offering Online Storytime where they can hear a story read to them by various authors. This month, Jane O’Connor is reading her book, “Fancy Nancy: Bonjour Butterfly”. This online storytime is complete with pictures and actually shows pages from the book itself.
Barnes & Noble is a great place to expose your children to. It will open their minds and encourage the love of reading.
Barnes & Noble is also a great place for adults to hang out and take advantage of their many events, such as their book clubs, writing workshops and guest appearances.
Check out your local Barnes & Noble store today for storytime throughout the week and occasional visits with costumed characters. At certain times throughout the year they also have various activities for the kids to participate in.
