Midsummer Travel Deals

It’s hard to believe that summer is halfway over. Fortunately, there are still a slew of seasonal travel deals to be had, so if you have been holding out for super summer savings that will help you get out of Dodge without breaking the bank, you are in luck.

The following are some of the best summer travel deals available right now:

AIRFARE

Direct Air recently announced that it is adding more reduced price nonstop flights to one of the nation’s most popular summer vacation destinations– Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Summer rates start as low as $99 one-way.

The family-friendly vacation city is bustling with kid-friendly activities this time of year and Direct Air, which is based out of Myrtle Beach, is one of the best ways to get there. Virgin America and USA Jet operate the airline’s flights, so you may not have seen its low prices appear on major aggregate travel websites.

While Direct Air’s routes and flight schedules aren’t as diverse as those of other domestic carriers, its ticket prices are significantly lower. The airline’s rates are easily $150-$250 less than its competitors, plus you get to enjoy the luxury of flying nonstop to Myrtle Beach. The downside is that many of the cheap flights take off from smaller hubs.

BEACH RENTALS

It’s not too late in the season to snag a deal on great beach rentals at a handful of the East Coast’s favorite beach towns, including Hilton Head, South Carolina and Cape Cod.

Endless Vacation Rentals is offering 25 percent savings on tons of condos on popular East Coast beaches. For example, right now you can score a beach cottage in Hilton Head for a group of six for $156 per night when you book a week rental. Likewise, you can save big on a condo at the legendary beach town of Cape Cod. For just $560 per week (that’s only $80 per night) you can stay at a fab beach rental with access to Cape Cod’s most popular attractions.

Other options include one-bedroom apartments in Virginia Beach for just $87 per night and prime golf villas in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, for just $124 per night.
