Ways to Save on Labor Day Getaways

Unless you plan to sit on your couch waiting to see if Jerry Lewis raises that “ONE MORE DOLL-AH” than he did last Labor Day weekend, then you’re likely looking to save on a last-minute summer getaway.

If you are a procrastinator, then more power to you. Feet draggers can score big when hunting for last-minute Labor Day travel deals. Here are some of the best bargains out there right now:

Expedia: The popular travel website is advertising 40 percent off select hotel stays through September 6th and offering a $50 pre-paid MasterCard rebate for three-night bookings at some hotels.

Travelzoo: Book here and you can save up to 50 percent off select hotels during the Labor Day weekend. In addition, many hotels are offering third-night-free deals.

Orbitz: Booking on travel giant, Orbitz, will score you big savings on hotel rooms in Chicago, Denver, Orlando and Los Angeles this Labor Day weekend. The online travel deal finder is advertising $100 hotel rooms during the holiday weekend. The company’s Labor Day Insider Index report also reveals that several Las Vegas hotel rooms are going for less $50 per night during the long weekend.

Marriott: The hotel chain is still offering its “Summer in the City” package in popular vacation destinations, such as Boston, New York, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. Through September 5th, the hotel will also throw in breakfast for two and passes to local museums and attractions.

Embassy Suites: Select Embassy Suites hotels in Southern California are offering a “Kids Eat Free” deal for AAA members during lunch and dinner. That’s in addition to the hotel chain’s year-round complimentary breakfast and evening receptions.

IHG: The group of hotels, which includes Intercontinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Staybridge Suites and others is giving guests up to $50 of their airline checked baggage fees reimbursed after a two-night stay.
