When Apple first introduced the iPhone I thought people were absolutely silly for waiting in line for a phone. Years later people again waited in line and preordered the iPhone 4, so I guess I’m still amazed. As much as I wanted an iPhone, I didn’t want one that badly. I wasn’t willing to pay the cost of the phone to begin with and certainly not until I was eligible for an upgrade. I got my opportunity this past February. I asked Santa for an iPhone for Christmas and then waited impatiently for an upgrade to become available. I had no idea the wonders that I would behold in the iPhone.
I recently blogged about an app for using your iPhone to open and close out your restaurant or bar tab. I have used my iPhone to program my DVR, access my bank accounts at different banks, read books, and play games, When I accessed my bank accounts, I could initiate all the same transactions that I would from my personal computer at home.
I have Quicken on my iPhone, but it’s not the same as the Quicken that I have on my laptop. Something is better than nothing, I guess. I found an app called ClearCheckbook Money Management. ClearCheckbook does everything. I can balance my checkbook, view reports on my spending, and see where my money is going. It’s got to be better than the Quicken app.
Another app is Financer Lite. With Financer Lite you can track deposits and withdrawals for an unlimited number of accounts and really stay on top of things to know where your money is going. The app boasts simplicity and that information can be easily exported to email.
I’ll have to download both apps for a test drive and review. My new mantra may just be, “There’s an app for that.”
