There is nothing more cuddly then a sleepy child in soft fuzzy pajamas first thing in the morning or right before bed. I like to have a lot of extra pajamas available, especially in winter, to make sure the kids stay warm and snugly. I also like to get great deals and spend less on them, so here are my tips.
For older children, instead of pajamas, try warm oversized sweat pants and sweat shirts. You can reuse them for up to three years (I can usually get four). When they are large, wear them as pajamas, when they fit just right, wear them as regular clothes, and when they are a little small, were them for rough play. My kids like to explore and dig around in the dirt and woods of our backyard, where nice clothes would get ruined, so this works out perfectly.
Another option for girls is adult t-shirts turned into night gowns. They are inexpensive and can picked up almost anywhere.
Of course, sweats are not coated with fire resistant stuff the way many regular pajamas are, so if that is important to you, keep it in mind.
Another way to get cheaper kids pajamas is to buy them at the end of the season for the next year. Just chose a size or two above your child’s current size, depending on how quickly he or she grows, and you can get the PJs for as low as $1 a pair in some cases! I saw a bunch marked down in Target yesterday.
You can also check online for cheaper kids pajamas by combining sales with coupon codes. FreeCoupons.com has some coupon codes for Sears right now, and you can combine them with the current deals to stock up. I think JC Penny is having a clearance deal, too.
