Sometimes all you want to do is plop down on the couch after the kids go to bed and watch a movie. Too bad you just mailed your Netflix DVD back this morning and there’s nothing interesting in the instant cue. All of your favorite shows are reruns and the only movie showing on TV tonight is some drama on the woman’s network about a girl who is seeking revenge against her mother in law and you’re pretty sure you can guess the ending. You could get in the car and drive to one of those boxes that give you a movie for a buck, but that would require putting on shoes and it’s a fifteen minute drive round trip. Before you give up your movie plans, pick up the remote. If you have digital cable, you are in luck, because you have access to tons of new releases through Movies On Demand.
I recently got to try out On Demand and I was surprised by how simple it was. All I had to do was tune into the Movies On Demand channel and I was immediately able to select from a long list of popular movie titles. I watched the movie “Letters To Juliet.” I was able to stream the HD version of the movie for $5.99. With my remote, I could pause, rewind or fast forward the movie, just like a DVD.
Movies On Demand seems like a really convenient option for moms who find it hard to pile all the kids in the car, just to go pick out a movie. Have you ever tried to browse through the movies at the video store with your children? It’s hard! With Movies On Demand, you never have to leave your couch.
“Letters to Juliet” was a sweet romantic film about a girl who goes on a vacation with her chef fiance, and ends up on an adventure she never anticipated when she discovers a letter written to Juliet over fifty years ago. It was a little predictable, and yet it was a happy story that was fun to watch, even if I did know what was going to happen.
