It’s Not Just a Belly…

If you have ever been pregnant, you know how big that belly can get during the final month. It sticks out so far from your usual waistline that it feels like you’ve stuffed a beach ball up your shirt. It kind of looks like it, too! Even though it can be heavy and make rolling over in bed almost impossible, it is still fun to have a big baby belly. It can be useful as well. Did you know there are many more things you can do with your portable table than spill your ice cream on it?

1. Mouse pad. Big baby bellies work really well as a mouse pad when you are working on the computer. The added benefit is it is more comfortable to have your arm draped over your stomach than across the desk.

2. Craft table. Baby bellies can serve as a nice little work surface when you are knitting or crocheting a project. You can rest your wrists on your belly and spread the work over the top of it.

3. Remote stand. Flipping through channels? When you’re not using the remote, keep it handy by placing it on top of your baby belly. It will be right within reach the next time you need to change the station.

4. Cup holder. Your belly is the perfect spot to set your water bottle down when you need to free your hands for a second. Be warned, however, if your baby kicks it, it will go flying.

5. Head rest. Your belly is the perfect spot for your spouse’s head while you cuddle on the couch and watch a movie. Like the water bottle, your husband’s head might be in the line of fire, so be careful.

Those are just a few of the ways I used my big ol’ baby belly when I was pregnant. I was a little sad to see it go. How you get the most out of your extended belly is up to you! Sometimes, having a sense of humor about your big baby bump helps you cope with the discomforts of being so stretched out.
