Create a Halloween Table

Are you looking forward to some spooky meals in the near future? Maybe you’re planning a Halloween party for kids or their adults. If you want to create a spooky-looking table, here are a few ideas.

Create a scene. Get an orange or black tablecloth and get the kids to stamp it with Halloween pumpkins or black cats. If you’re feeling crafty, glue or appliqué these images onto the tablecloth. Do the same with placemats and napkins. Add a spider or a black cat to the top of the napkin ring.

Make pumpkins or haunted houses into a Halloween centerpiece. Spooky pumpkins with a candle or a flashlight inside make the perfect centerpiece, as do miniature houses from craft stores painted black, with a little flashlight or LED flashing light embedded inside.

Use an apple punch bowl to adorn the table. Place a few whole applies and a lot of circular apple slices in a bowl of apple cider or punch. Add a little bit of orange juice to make the juice look festive.

If you’re feeling very spooky, drape a ghostly figure on the ceiling and let it hang over top of the table. You can even get ghosts on strings that move around the room as you move! Make white napkins into cute little ghosts by stuffing another napkin inside and using a white elastic band to hold the entire thing together. Sit them over top of cups so that guests can ooh and aah over them when they come into the room.

If you are entertaining a small crowd, use black mosquito netting to create a wide canopy over the table. This will make the entire table look deeply mysterious. Just make sure that there are good entrances and exits or the entire thing will come crashing down.

Serve Halloween goodies like witch’s fingers, apple slices, candied apples, and even pumpkin pie for a Halloween feast!
