Foods That Fight Inflammation 2

It is important to fight inflammation in your body to counteract the damage that can cause cancer, heart disease and diabetes among other diseases and conditions. Getting enough sleep is one way to do this, but it isn’t the only tool in your arsenal.

You can reduce your risk of serious disease by making your that your diet includes food that fights inflammation. Yesterday, I introduced this topic and shared two of the important foods that you need to consume. Today, I’ll finish the list with three more food that fight inflammation.

Cherries

The type of cherry you choose is important. It is the tart cherry that fights inflammation. The darker the cherry the better. If the taste is too bitter for your liking when eating them out of hand, consider baking them in a pie or cobbler. You can have your desert and fight inflammation too.

Cabbage

I have to admit that before a few months ago, we never ate cabbage. I always thought of it as the stink vegetable. That was before I found out how tasty and easy to prepare cabbage is. Simply boil it and shred it for a great side vegetable. or, if you prefer, turn it into cole slaw and use it up with sandwiches for the week. Either way, you’ll get plenty of substances that will fight off bacteria and lower your cancer risk.

Artichokes

Did you know that artichokes are the super vegetables of antioxidant power? Beside lowering your risk for disease, they also have anti-aging properties and they boost your immunity! Whoo hoo, you can’t beat that. Make sure that you include artichokes in your diet on a regular basis. Your body (and your family) may thank you later.

Of course your diet should include lots of other healthy foods, too, to make sure that your body gets all of the nutrition it needs.
