Favorite Floor Cleaner

My parents have laminate floors in their home and clean them with Wilsonart Flooring Cleaner. The product is designed to keep laminate and linoleum floors looking newer, longer. My mom is a believer. She happens to love Wilsonart and uses it for daily cleanings, in addition to the times when she needs to deep-clean the floor in order to get rid of grease, dirt, and residue. Wilsonart Laminate floor cleaner (the concentrated formula) features a no rinse formula, which cleans without streaking. Another bonus: Wilsonart floor cleaner is biodegradable.

To use simply mix two ounces of the concentrated floor cleaner with one gallon of clean warm water. Then, use a clean damp mop or sponge to apply the cleaner and let dry. No rinsing is required. Talk about a time saver. So, yeah, my family loves Wilsonart, but as I have tried to point out to my mom, there are other ways to clean laminate floors besides spending a pretty penny on commercial cleaners.

An easy and inexpensive way to return the shine to dull laminate floors is to mix one cup of the standard household vinegar or rubbing alcohol with four cups of very hot water. Use the solution to spot clean or dampen a mop in it and apply it to the entire floor.

Another option is to mix together two tablespoons of ammonia with a half cup of rubbing alcohol. Combine the ingredients and then add a teaspoon of detergent, plus two and a half cups of hot water. The solution can by used to clean a large laminate floor.

In addition to ammonia, vinegar and alcohol, you can safely clean your laminate flooring with lemon juice or baby shampoo. If you opt to use the latter, simply mix two teaspoons of baby shampoo with one gallon of very hot water.

Do you buy commercial laminate cleaners or do you make your own?
