I am far from a computer whiz; however, after viewing an eye-popping photo collage on one of my favorite websites, I was inspired to create one on my own using my trusty PC.
Before you begin the process of creating amazing collages from ordinary pictures, you need to select the appropriate software. There are a number of websites that offer the software for free while others allow you to use their programs during a trial period.
I highly recommend PictureCollagesSoftware.com. It is an outstanding all-in-one photo collage program that caters to beginners. I especially appreciate that it features hundreds of pre-designed photo collage templates so you don’t need prior experience to craft photo masterpieces. There is also an option to create your own collages from scratch and instructions on how to apply image frames, masks, drop shadows and other effects to your photos.
A lot of my friends use Google’s Picasa to create photo collages for free. All you need to do to create a personal photo collage, is download and install the program. Once you do that Picasa will automatically detect all images on your computer and create a library. From there you just select the images you want to craft your collage. If you don’t have a lot of time or you are artistically challenged, simply choose from six different pre-made collage templates featured in the collage creation screen.
After you are done creating your photo collage you can share it with friends by uploading it to Picasa Web Albums or if you plan to make a Christmas-themed collage consider:
*Including it on a calendar page
*Featuring it on a greeting card
*Adding it to an invitation
*Making a poster from it
*Printing and framing it
*Setting as desktop wallpaper
