With technology booming at breakneck speeds, you have a lot of opportunity for marketing your business. Social networking is just one of those ways.
Facebook provides a way for you to connect with others. I use my personal Facebook page to connect not only with friends and family members but other writers. It has proven to be a great resource.
But I also use Facebook for one of the places I write for, promoting it. It’s a great way to showcase my articles and connect to those who subscribe. You can easily use Facebook to create a fan page or a business page.
Twitter is yet another social media outlet that can help promote your business. This gives you the opportunity to not only make connections but to be personable. The great thing about social media is that others can “see” you from a variety of angles, your business self, along with your personal self.
I know a lot of people get turned off or scared by the idea of creating a Facebook or Twitter account. We hear horror stories and think we’re better off avoiding it. But with everything there is always good and bad. I have had only positive experiences with using social media to help boost my business.
You can also market your business through other means such as LinkedIn, Digg and StumbleUpon. The world is really at your fingertips, with the ability for you to potentially reach millions.
You can also combine some of the previous business marketing ideas I have shared with social media. You can promote your resume and website through social media. All of these different marketing tools can interact with each other, creating a greater opportunity for exposure.
Sit down and brainstorm all the ways you could utilize social media to boost and market your business. Take a look at other Facebook pages and Twitter accounts to see how others use them to their advantage. Then determine that this year you are going to join the ranks and provide your business the opportunity to really grow.
