Medical Issues Come up

During our 90 time-out period we had no contact with any of my husband’s family. It was actually quite peaceful we had no family drama. We were almost through our 90 day time out my father in law had a heart attack. Even though our time out was not over we went to the hospital because that is what family does.

During the time when we were at the hospital his family acted like there was nothing wrong, that we had not been sent to time out. I personally was rather uncomfortable because I knew there were issue and you could feel tension in the air. Today was about his Dad who needed to have a stint put in and it was about my husband. I was trying to be supportive for my husband he was feeling bad that we had been on time out before this happened. The truth is we were put there because we tried to make things better and they did not want to. When we left the hospital that day his mother hug and kissed us both and said she loved us, but when the medical crisis was over our time-out continued.

When the time out hit its official time out mark his family started calling him at work again, they still would not call the house. This happens to still be a pet peeve for me; we get home from work about 5:30 every day why can’t they just call at night or on the weekend? It truly feels to me that they are doing this as a way to show they have no respect for our marriage or me.

We waited a while after the time out ended and tried to see if we could talk about the issues that we had and we were told they were in the past and they would not discuss them. We explained that there were things that happened and our feelings were hurt and we still felt the need to address them so they would know what they did and how they made us feel. Their reply was that I was just trying to stir the pot and they hung up.

About Tammy Woolard

My name is Tammy and I am 40 year old mother of 3 wonderful children who came to us through domestic adoption. Although we did not have any fertility issues we chose adoption because there are so many kids that did not ask to be born but truly want a family to love. We did research on adoption choices and decided on domestic adoption through CPS. You would be surprised the differences between each agency. The adoption process is nothing like you see in the movies. I am also a 5 year breast cancer survivor. When I was diagnosed my kids were 3, 5 and 7 I did so much research I may have driven my Dr. a little crazy but that is ok it is my body not his.
