VPI Reveals List of Most Popular Wacky Pet Names for 2011

dog wearing sunglasses Did you give your pet a traditional name for a dog or cat? Or, did you get creative and name your pet something wacky? VPI has a list of the most popular wacky pet names for 2011. They also have a wacky pet name generator that you can use if you want some suggestions for what to name your pet.

VPI is a pet insurance company that has been around for more than thirty years. Since 1982, they have insured more than one million pets. They started out providing pet insurance for companion animals (which, in this case, means service animals). The very first VPI pet insurance policy was issued to one of the most famous dogs on television, “Lassie”.

You can find pet insurance for your dog or cat through VPI. They have different plans to choose from, and can “walk you through” everything you need to know about pet insurance right on their website.

Pet insurance functions in a similar way to how health insurance works for humans. If your dog or cat becomes injured, gets sick, or has a medical emergency, pet insurance can help to cover at least some of the veterinary bills that you accrue in order to take good care of your pet. It can also cover things like checkups, spaying or neutering, and more.

In 2010, VPI created a list of the most popular pet names for dogs and for cats. They pulled data from a survey of over 450,000 insured pets, in order to find the most popular names. VPI also created a really amusing list of the wackiest pet names for 2010. At the top of that list, for dogs, were names like Pickle Von Corndog, Lord Chubby Pruneface, Badonkadonnk, Ninjastar Dangerrock, and Molly McBoozehound. For cats, the list started with Purr Diem, Bing Clawsby, Cleocatra, Admiral Pancake, and Optimus Pants.

This year, VPI has created a list of 2011’s Most Popular Wacky Pet Names. There are fifty wacky names that have been given to dogs, and another fifty wacky names that have been bestowed upon cats. This year, the top ten names on each list link directly to a photo and short bio about the animal that has been given that particular wacky name.

The top ten most popular wacky names for dogs this year are: Almost-A-Dog, Franco Furter, Stinkie McStinkerson, Sir Seamus McPoop, Audrey Shepburn, Dewey Decimell, Knuckles Capone, Beagle Lugosi, Shooter Mclovin, and Uzi Duzi Du. The list of the ten most popular wacky names for cats for 2011 are: Ozzy Pawsbourne, Mr. Meowgi, Murderface, Fuglee, Scruffernutter, Corporal Cuddles, Cat Masterson, Spam, Tape W. Orm, and Louisiana Purchase.
