Fall Special Offers

disneyland

With a new season comes a new batch of special offers at the Disney parks. Disney World is surprisingly light on new deals this quarter, so let’s take a look at it first.

The main deal being pushed by Disney World right now is a free dining plan. Guests who purchase a non-discounted Magic Your Way room and ticket package at certain Disney World hotels get either a free dining plan or a free quick-service dining plan. The difference depends on the hotel; the bigger dining plan comes with the nicer (moderate, deluxe, or deluxe villa) hotels and the quick-service with the value resorts.

The plan is valid for vacations booked through October 29 of this year and applies for certain dates between October 2011 and March 2012. The dates cover most of the relevant months, with exceptions for the most part being high travel times during holidays. Check out the Disney World Special Offers page for the specifics and to book a trip.

As usual the Disneyland Special Offers page is littered with hotel discounts – save up to 30% at a resort hotel if you book by a certain date for a limited number of dates – and cheaper park hopper tickets. The top offer is one that allows guests to stay an additional day at Disneyland.

The package applies to families of four, which seems exclusionary so perhaps that’s just the main example being used, but I found no evidence to the contrary. I attempted to begin the booking process for a fake trip to find out, but was given a message that the booking software was down for routine maintenance.

Possible issues aside, the deal still looks good. It’s basically for a 3-day, 2-night vacation for the price of 1 day less than that. Stay at a Disneyland Resort Good Neighbor hotel and get 3-day Park Hopper tickets for the base price of $1,028, which, as the site says, is only $86/person/day.

The big drawback of the deal is that it’s only available for one weekend in November: November 18-20. If you were thinking of taking a Disneyland vacation around that time book ASAP, as I’m guessing the offer might not be unlimited.

Given that there aren’t a lot of new deals at either park this season (though Disneyland fares much better than Disney World), let’s take a look at the special offers for another type of vacation: a Disney Cruise.

Most of the Disney Cruise deals relate to discounts for one’s status, either as a member of the military or as a resident of Florida or Southern California. However, two other deals stand out.

The first gives $25 onboard credit to guests who book their cruise online. It’s for a limited time only but I can’t find any specific dates listed, so perhaps the deal is simply available until it’s pulled from the website. The credit applies by booked room, not by person, and is usable for most onboard activities.

Those interested a Caribbean cruise should like the next offer: guests can get the 7-night cruises of either the West Caribbean or the East Caribbean aboard the Disney Magic starting at $999/ticket. The deal’s for double occupancy for a “Verandah Stateroom with Restrictions.” The West Caribbean trip leaves on November 26 and the East Caribbean on December 3. Check out the Disney Cruise Special Offers page for more details on this and all other current discounts.
