Let’s finish up the basics of creating a Facebook fan page for your business. We are still working our way through each section of the creation process.
Featured
Here you have the ability to control which pages you have “liked” show up on your page under “Likes” on your left sidebar of your fan page. The pages you feature will rotate as only five pictures show at a time. You could possibly use this to give exposure to other pages in exchange for them featuring you or to direct your customers to pages that compliment your page.
The next item you can feature is the administrator or administrators of your fan page. Normally the administrators do not show up on the fan page for fans to see. If you decide to feature and administrator or put a company to a friendly face, then your personal profile will show a link to the page under friends on the left sidebar. The featured administrator will also show up with a link to their personal profile on the page under “likes” on the left sidebar. You can change the featured administrator at any time or show as many as you wish. It is a nice way to give extra attention to your page through exposing it to the friends and family of the administrator.
Resources
The resources section provides you important links to develop your page, share your page, advertise, and the help center.
Manage Admins
Quite simply this is where you add or remove administrators to your page. You can add their email addresses if that applies.
Apps
Applications can take your page to the next level. This section will aid in adding, removing or improving applications to your page. You can manage who can post links and video to your wall from here as well.
Mobile
Here you can manage your page from your cell phone. It is quite useful for those who want to upload pictures from their phone to Facebook or status updates through a text message.
Insights
The Insights page informs you of your page’s activity. You can access how many new likes, comments, views, etc. from a certain week or day. It is a nice way to track your success and to see which content inspires more comments and interactions. You will also gain insight into how many non-fans and fans have interacted on your site.
