We discussed status updates yesterday and how to make them interesting and irresistible. Asking questions, making it relevant to your customer’s lives, giving advice, useful information, or asking a fun survey type question are excellent ways to get your customers and readers engaged on your page. The more engaging your page the more “likes” you will get and that can only lead to more exposure which leads to more customers and to a growing business! Yes, everything you ever needed to know can be found in “If you Give a Mouse a Cookie.” One thing is always leading to another.
Tagging
Tagging is an excellent way to get your brand out there. Find a group niche and tag team so that all of you gain exposure. For instance, on Fridays you may want to update your status by wishing a nice weekend to a group of other pages which are similar or in the same genre as your own. You will then show up on their wall for more potential customers to see. Soon you will find pages tagging you back as a thank you. The more tagging and support network you have the faster your fan base will grow. So if you sell umbrellas then make friends with pages that sell raincoats and begin tagging each other for your mutual benefit. You can also tag your customers for a special thank you. Once you tag them you will be on their wall. Your customer will feel special that you singled him or her out and you will gain added exposure.
Core Group
No page is an island. When you first start out selling your umbrellas find those who sell raincoats, galoshes, gutters, and anything that would appeal to your customers. Form an alliance to support one another through tagging, posting sales, or giving special discounts to so and so’s fans.
Your loyal customers are another core group to consider. Make them feel special by singling them out with a thank you. Ask them to help you promote a sale. If they are bloggers or if they have a lot of friends on Facebook give them a coupon code exclusively for their friends, family and readers to use.
