Usually, when someone has a “fashion malfunction” the last thing they want to do is share it with the world! Now, however, there is good reason to do it. Band-Aid is having a “Fashion Malfunction” story contest. Share your story, and you could win a $2,500 Cynthia Rowley shopping spree, and a styling session!
Every first aid kit should include some band-aids. The types of band-aids that you typically find inside a first aid kit are beige. They are quite functional, but, no one would consider them to be a “fashion statement”.
Those of you with children probably can think of a few examples of situations where the application of a band-aid made everything “all better”. Kids enjoy wearing band-aids that have their favorite cartoon characters, or ones that are in colorful patterns. For preschoolers, the height of fashion includes a band-aid or two of a popular cartoon character.
Adults usually don’t want anyone to notice when they are using a band-aid. This is especially true if you are using a band-aid to fix a “fashion malfunction”. If you are wearing a pair of really cute shoes, then you want people to notice how adorable the shoes are. You don’t want people to stare at your shoes because they are looking at the band-aid that you used as a “quick fix” to hold part of your shoe together until you get home.
Right now, Band-Aid is having a “Fashion Malfunction” story contest. To enter, you start by clicking the “like” button on their Facebook page. Next, you need to “Fess Up” about your “Fashion Malfunction” that was resolved by using a band-aid.
Your story, and the title of your story, must be in English, and must not exceed one thousand characters. That’s “characters”, not “words”. The title can be up to thirty characters in length. You also have to include a photo that enhances your story. The photo can include yourself, but cannot include anyone else. For more specific details, you should probably read over the official rules of the contest, (which are easily accessible from the Band-Aid Facebook page).
Stories must be submitted by October 25, 2011. All stories will then go through a judging process and be given a score. 50% of the score comes from “fit to contest theme”, 35% comes from “humor”, and 15% comes from “relevance to others”. Twenty-five stories will be put on Facebook, for people to vote on.
For a limited time, participants who vote will get a package of Band-Aid brand adhesive bandages that have been designed by Cynthia Rowley. Those are going to be some spectacular looking band-aids!
There will be five second prize winners. Each will receive a Cynthia Rowley accessory bundle worth $500.00. There will be five first prize winners, who will each get a $1,000 American Express Gift Card. There will be one Grand Prize Winner. That person will receive a trip to New York for a $2,500 shopping spree, and a styling session with Cynthia Rowley (if she is available). If not, then the winner will get a styling session with a representative selected by Cynthia Rowley.
