89.3 KSBJ is not, technically, a podcast. It is a radio station that plays “Contemporary Christian Music”. They will be playing Christmas music from right now, through Christmas, (and may continue after that). You can listen to it directly through their website, as a live stream. Christmas music is a very traditional part of how many families celebrate Christmas.
NPR has an episode of “Morning Edition” that was released on December 5, 2011. This episode is called “Party At Martha’s: Stewart’s Tips for ‘Entertaining’”. In this episode, Martha Stewart gives some tips for holiday entertaining. She also talks about a nativity scene that she made while she was incarcerated.
NPR has an episode of “All Things Considered” that was released on December 5, 2011. This episode is called “Mall Santas Coached To Temper Kids’ Expectations”. This episode talks with a mall Santa, about the spirit, and strategy, of being Santa in tough economic times.
NPR also has an episode of “Simon Says” that was released on December 3, 2011. This episode is called “What’s In A (Baby) Name?” This episode goes over some of the list of the most popular names for American babies in 2011, (a list compiled by BabyCenter.com.) It points out that Americans don’t always give their children names that are tied to the past, or taken from family.
GeneaBloggers has an episode that was released on December 2, 2011. This episode is called “Capturing Family Memories – All Year Round”.
Special guests include Stefani Twyford, (President and Founder of Legacy Multimedia), who talks about why preserving family memories is important, and various methods that can be used to preserve them. Jennifer Shoer, (of The Scrappy Genealogist Blog), is another special guest. She will explain methods and resources she used to capture family memories. Lorel Kapke, (of Sort Your Story), is also a special guest. She will discuss how Sort Your Story can help you organize family memories.
