Constant Motion

As I near the end of my pregnancy, I am finding that I cannot seem to slow down. Every day begins with a new “to do” list. From finishing nursery projects to running weekly errands, to cleaning, to holiday baking; there is always something to do that seems to require urgent attention. Procrastination is not an option!

My mornings seem to start at about eight in the morning, depending on my “to do” list, I either begin my day with yogurt and a workout, or a larger breakfast of an omelet and an orange with my husband and son with a workout to follow an hour later. Then it is usually off to run errands whether it be to a prenatal appointment, grocery shopping, a quick trip to the mall or consignment shop, or my weekly (soon to be bi-weekly) chiropractic appointment. Then it is back home for a late lunch (sometimes we eat before the errands, it just depends on the time). Then I find myself unable to ignore the day to day mess that is unfortunately inevitable and I spend a good amount of time straightening things up and doing basic cleaning. More often than not, I find myself some sort of Christmas project on which to focus my attention; recently it was wrapping gifts for my eight siblings (I have a gift wrap theme every year). I tend to loose track of time. At some point we eat dinner, and then it is right back to work.

Occasionally I have reserved a large block of time to work on the crib bumper (at my parents house; they have a sewing machine and work space that I do not have), which generally takes up an entire afternoon and evening (thankfully it is almost done)! Most recently, while I was baking, I discovered that an animal (most likely a mouse) had gnawed into a bag of nuts and a bag of flour in our pantry. I had been putting off organizing this space for awhile a planned to continue ignoring it until after the baby is born. Alas, as soon as I realized that a critter was in my pantry, I freaked out and spent an entire evening cleaning and reorganizing the pantry too!

Needless to say, I always seem to find something to keep my very busy and constantly in motion. This must be a nesting thing … at least I hope it is!
