February is a huge month for weddings. Valentine’s Day elopements and destination nuptials are major draws for couples looking to begin their lives as husband and wife.
Once the pomp and circumstance is over, you’ll want to create a scrapbook to house all of your special memories. Unfortunately, wedding scrapbooks can often look generic if you don’t experiment with different techniques. This doesn’t mean you have to purchase expensive products or spend hours on a single page design in order to achieve an eye-popping layout. Rather, there are many ways you can infuse your book with creative touches with very little effort.
One of the easiest ways to craft a standout layout is to use a heart-shaped paper punch on different colored cardstock. Then, add select portions from the toasts that are offered at your wedding reception. Another option is to use the paper hearts to display wedding-themed quotes, such as:
“And when my lips meet thine, thy very soul is wedded unto mine.”
“Suddenly, quietly, you realize that – from this moment forth – you will no longer be alone.”
“The best thing to hold onto in life is each other.”
“To the world you may be but a person, but to me you are the world.”
“There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved.”
“A real love story has no ending.”
“The sound of a kiss is not as loud as that of a cannon, but its echo lasts a great deal longer.”
If you have an extra-large heart-shaped paper punch you might consider using mulberry paper or another type of handmade specialty paper to display longer quotes or to use as a journaling block. Your journaling can include the names of the individuals in your bridal party and the reason you selected them to be a part of your ceremony. In addition, you could touch on how you coped with wedding day jitters and list your “something old, something new, something borrowed something blue.” Finally, once you adhere the hearts to your layout, add some embellishments, such as vellum, ribbon and Prima flowers.
