It’s been a rough few months for Demi Moore after splitting from hubby of six years, Ashton Kutcher.
Moore, 49, hosted a party at her home last Monday, but was rushed to Sherman Oaks Hospital after reportedly suffering a seizure. The 911 call released by the Los Angeles Fire Department showed how out of control things may be. A friend called 911, asking for an ambulance, saying there was an emergency. The caller stated Moore “smoked something” – “not marijuana but it’s something similar to incense.” The caller went on to say Moore was having convulsions and was “semi-conscious.”
When the phone was given to another woman, she reported Moore was “not breathing normally” and was “burning up.” The second caller told the 911 dispatcher that she didn’t know what Moore smoked or if she had taken any other drugs. The caller did report Moore was “having some issues with some other stuff lately.” Rumors are that she was inhaling nitrous oxide. According to TMZ, references to whip-its (a type of nitrous oxide) was removed from the 911 tape before it was released.
Moore, who has not been seen since her release from the hospital, is seeking “professional assistance to treat her exhaustion” according to her publicist.
Coming to Moore’s defense was actor George Clooney, who said at last night’s Screen Actors Guild Awards, “I think it’s stupid for anyone, whether they’ve celebrated or not, I don’t believe their 911 calls should be broadcast around the world.”
Moore was scheduled to play Gloria Steinem in the upcoming film about Linda Lovelace, but pulled out after being hospitalized. While some says she is “devastated” over losing the part, friend Patty Jenkins says, “I just saw her and she’s doing great.” Jenkins went on to say Moore is doing much better than the media is reporting.
