When you have adopted children there are certain things you do not know such as the biological medical history. This is especially true when you adopt a child from child protective services like we did. We have been asking the biological mother for birth family history since we first met her during the medication of Rebecca. As I have mentioned in the past the biological mother voided the mediation agreement when she disappeared and our letters kept getting returned.
I tracked the biological mother down a few times already and asked her for the information but she has repeatedly failed to provide. I decide again to track her down and found her on Face book. This time I gave her another request for the health information and the information regarding their births. After a few months of asking she finally sent partial information. She failed to provide birth information on Rebecca but the information on the boys was surprising.
We found out that Steve was an emergency c section when the biological mother started having a grand mal seizure during the birth. Could this be the reason Steve has epilepsy? When we asked her if she had any medical issues she clearly said no when we met her but now all these years later we are finding out so much more.
We found out that George was an emergency c section as well his story is so much more interesting. We were told that during delivery the doctor delivering him could not find a heartbeat on him. When this was discovered they did the emergency c section and when he was born he had an infection and was hospitalized 2 1/2 weeks. OK that was all she said. No information at all has ever been mentioned about this and no mention as to what the infection was, how it was treated nothing. I did some internet searches and I am concerned about some of the results. Could this infection be why he has epilepsy?
