ipod Every week, the Insurance Podcast Roundup brings you brand new episodes of podcasts that talk about insurance related issues. Listening to them is a good way to keep up with the news, and to stay politically aware.

NPR has an episode of “Morning Edition” that was released on February 16, 2012. This episode is called “Doctors ‘Disgruntled’ And Frustrated By Looming Medicare Cuts”. The episode explains why doctors are upset over the continued looming threat of cuts to the reimbursement that they would get from treating patients who use Medicare.

NPR has an episode of “Morning Edition” that was released on February 13, 2012. This episode is called “Health Care In Massachusetts: ‘Abject Failure’ Or Work In Progress?” This episode discusses, in great detail, the health care system that exists in Massachusetts. It is a universal health care system, and it seems to be rather successful at helping people to afford health insurance coverage.

PBS NewsHour released an episode on February 16, 2012. This episode is called “Pelosi Outlines Democrats’ Campaign Vision”. In this episode, host Judy Woodruff speaks with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. One of the topics they discuss is the upcoming Supreme Court case about the individual mandate.

Indie Travel Podcast has an episode that was released on February 12, 2012. This episode is called “How to buy travel insurance”. If you are planning on taking a trip, or a vacation, this year, then this is a helpful episode to listen to. The podcast, and the information in the show notes for this episode, give you an excellent explanation about what travel insurance is, why you need it, what type you should buy, and how to record purchases.

The Diane Rehm Show has an episode that was released on February 17, 2012. This episode is called “Friday News Roundup – Domestic”. Several insurance related topics are discussed in this episode, including the debate over mandated coverage of contraceptives in health care law, the walkout that several Democrats did in regards to a hearing about that issue, and the payroll tax cut (which includes issues related to Medicare and unemployment insurance).
