Minnie Driver Reveals Father of Son

Actress Minnie Driver gave birth to her son Henry Story Driver on September 5, 2008. Like many celebrity mothers, she kept pretty mum about the birth, even refusing to name the boy’s father. And you know that when a celebrity refuses to name a father, it is going to be the talk of the town.

For the past three years, people have wondered who little Henry’s father was. At the time she gave birth, Driver hadn’t been dating anyone that the paparazzi could catch up with.

Today, she finally told the world that Henry’s father is…a writer for the show “The Riches.” Driver still didn’t give us a name, but as a writer, we probably wouldn’t recognize him anyhow.

Why the secrecy? Driver said that she wanted to keep the father’s identity private out of respect for him. Plus she added that he wasn’t “directly in the business” and the couple wasn’t “together.” The couple worked together on “The Riches” between 2007 and 2008.

So why reveal the information now? She said, “I don’t need to protect him anymore. He can fend for himself. He’s a grown-up.” Driver went on to say Henry’s father “is not famous” (that must have stung his ego a bit) and that the news of who the father was wasn’t even a “big story.”

Driver doesn’t sound too friendly when talking about the father, but then again, she hints to the fact that he may not have been the best father so far. She said, “Is he a good dad? Sort of. He’s figuring it out.” Driver went on to say the father hadn’t been involved in little Henry’s life – “his choice” – but that he is now.

Driver is currently appearing alongside former “Friends” star Lisa Kudrow in the online series “Web Therapy” and she just appeared in the television movie Hail Mary.

About Libby Pelham

I have always loved to write and Families.com gives me the opportunity to share my passion for writing with others. I work full-time as a web developer at UTHSC and most of my other time is spent with my son (born 2004). I love everything pop culture, but also enjoy writing about green living (it has opened my eyes to many things!) and health (got to worry about that as you get older!).
