What I Thought:
Galloping the Globe is truly one of the best resources for children in grades K-4th grade for studying Geography. If you thought the study of geography would bore your children or did not know where to start you have now found your answer. Galloping across the continents has never been so much fun!
I love the integration of outside sources to complete the activities. Your student will study literature, science, history, and Bible along with geography. The approach is appealing to all learning styles and most homeschool methods. A child is completely engaged in the study.
Galloping the Globe does require teacher preparation and it is not a book you read a chapter and put a way for the day. I find this the best aspect of the program. It will be a core subject in your homeschool. Because it reaches beyond the scope of geography the applications will enhance your other studies and serve to be a catalyst for studying aspects of other subjects like history. If you have a literature or history focused homeschool this book will fit right in. However, I suggest going over Galloping the Globe first and plugging in your other subjects from that point. The book is so well done and engaging that you and your children will be excited to learn history and literature from this point of view. However, the program is highly adaptable and works well with multiple students.
