As you may know I have tried to reach out to my kids’ biological mother to get information from her regarding their births and their biological dads. She provides information about 2 of our 3 kids but has still not replied to the questions that I asked about my third child or more details about her 2nd child.
In my last entry I mentioned how my son George was delivered by emergency C-section when the doctor could not find a fetal heartbeat. Then he was hospitalized in the NICU for an infection for 2 ½ weeks. She said nothing about why he had no heartbeat, how long he had no heartbeat, what the infection was or how it was treated!
This is super important information I would think that we should know and to think we never would have found out even this information if we had not pushed for it. I have sent her messages through face book but still no reply. First would she not think that this was information to have? We have had the kids for almost 10 years now and we never knew.
I honestly think there needs to be more information given by Child Protective Services to adoptive families. There are medical records from the hospital that we should have been provided with. If it is about privacy information then take out the biological mother’s name (which we already have from the court documents) but why can’t they go to hospital on the birth certificate and request the medical records for births. They should see where the kids have been treated by doctors whether it is at the pediatrician or at local ER’s. Come on this should be common sense. WE do not need if they got a cold and went to the doctor but emergency visits from injuries or serious illness is something that we should have been made aware of.
