My New Business Tool

After what seems like an endless chain of events, my husband and I finally upgraded our cell phones to smartphones. We were going to get iPhones, and we did in fact have iPhones for almost one day. After a little more deliberation (we tend to do a lot of research before we buy things) we chose to go with Android phones. Our new Motorola Droid 4 phones arrived yesterday and I activated mine as soon as I opened the box. It has been active for a little more than a day and it is already proving itself to be an amazing productivity tool.

Last night, the power went out at our house. I was still able to get online with my phone and get into my email. I even started drafting a blog post, but had to leave it unfinished because the battery got low. The phone had arrived with only a partially charged battery. Today, I was out and about with the kids. They fell asleep on our way to the park so when we got there, I started blogging away as they finished their nap. The phone has a slide out keyboard that is so easy to type on that it is almost like having a tiny little laptop with me wherever I go. Tomorrow night, I may download some apps and test drive the phone’s mobile hotspot capabilities.

I am excited about my new smartphone because of what I think that it can do for my home – based businesses. I have always been the type to work any time, anywhere and this awesome device lets me work in more places than ever before. Of course, the temptation to watch funny videos on YouTube and see what is happening on Facebook is also always at my fingertips, but for some reason I do not usually give in to that temptation. I look forward to seeing what other things my smartphone can do that are beneficial for my businesses.
