Fitness Gift Ideas for Mother’s Day

With Mother’s Day around the corner, it might be the perfect time to give her the gift of health. Why not encourage her in the way of fitness?

Of course, you have to be careful about this. You don’t want to hurt feelings. In fact, it’s probably a good idea to only give a fitness gift if your mother truly has a desire to make changes in her life or has already started to exercise.

One of the best gifts you can give is a pedometer. It’s a great way to keep track of your steps and set goals. If you have a good pedometer it can also estimate calories being burned.

Keep in mind that pedometers are designed differently. There are ones for running, walking and biking, so be sure to get the right one.

Another gift idea is a personalized stainless steel water bottle. An aluminum water bottle is another option but there have been recent concerns lately on a link to Alzheimer’s. So your safest bet is a stainless steel one.

You might also consider an interactive fitness game. If your mom happens to own a game system, this can be a great way to workout in the comfort of her own home. Give her something fun such as Zumba.

If your mom enjoys going to the gym, give her a personalized gym bag. Fill it with some healthy snacks or a pass for one free week at her favorite spot.

Light weights or kettleballs are another idea. Of course, with kettleballs you have to know what you are doing so be sure to throw in an instructional DVD.

If you know your mom has always wanted to join a gym but doesn’t have the funds, why not invest in her health? Purchase a gym membership. Or you might even give the gift of a personal trainer.

Is there really any better gift than the gift of fitness?
