A Family Outing Part III

After the sea lion exhibit, our son began to run with his daddy in tow towards the goats and another strange goat like animal (el packa?). The goats were kept in a fenced area but there were squares cut into the fence so that the goats and El Packa could poke their heads out to be petted (and fed) by the zoo goers. Our son immediately run up to the goats and said hello and pet one of the goats nose. I tried to get a photo of our son with a baby goat standing right up to the fence next to our son but the little goat moved before I could take off the camera lens cap. I did snap a couple cute photos of our son. Once our son was done looking and talking to the goats he looked up and realized that his daddy was not anywhere to be seen. He looked up at me with sad eyes and said, “Where did daddy go?” I pointed behind him to where his dad was standing waiting for him. On his way over to his daddy, he spotted the playground that was inside the “petting” zoo area. He immediately ran to go play. While daddy waiting with his baby sister, I climbed the wooden stairs up and around to the big twisting tube slides. As he went to slide down, I ran down to follow him back up to the top. The last few times down the slides he wanted me to go down with him. All I could think was, “This is really going to hurt.” It was amazingly pain free and the slide easily accommodated the both of us. After more running and playing, and sliding our son was looking for dad again. Both mom and dad felt that it was time to head to a different part of the zoo as the playground was getting overtaken by a bunch of older kids. We marched and skipped over the Australian Trail. There were mini kangaroos (probably called something else), parakeets, peacocks, and other strange birds. Our son was not all that interested in the birds so we took a quick walk past the flamingos and black swans and into the indoor exhibit. This time dad snapped some pictures while our son ran from fish tank exhibit to fish tank exhibit. He really liked to watch the colorful fish swimming in the tank. His favorite fish were these really large brownish/gray fish (the almost looked like fat and roundish catfish). We ducted under the waterfall and crossed the log bridge through the simulated Alaskan terrain and out the door. Our family outing to the zoo had come to a successful end.
