My next graduation gift is for a girl, what’s prettier than a bouquet of flowers you can spend?
Materials
money in whatever denomination you choose, you need three bills for each flower
pipe cleaners
scrapbook paper
I’ll show the steps using scrapbook paper because it’s easier to see the folds.
Fold the ends of the money in about a half an inch on each side. This doesn’t have to be perfect.
Fold in half, lengthwise, crease and unfold.
Fold each corner in to meet the center line.
Fold the top down and the bottom up to meet the center line.
Fold in half lengthwise and width wise. The width wise fold is just so you know where the middle is.
Repeat for other two pieces of paper or money.
Put the three pieces together and wrap the center with a pipe cleaner.
Fan out the petals, push against the crease in the middle to make it as flat as possible to open up the petals.
Do the same with the remaining money and then make some pretty flowers out of the scrapbook paper.
You can embellish the center of the paper flowers if you would like. Just use some hot glue to stick a rhinestone or a button on the center. Don’t do that with the money.
I made a little butterfly to go in the flowers as well. You need two bills for this.
Fold one bill in half, unfold and then fold the corners in to meet the center line.
Now fold it like an accordion. Lay the next bill below it and fold the sides in to match the first bill.
Fold like an accordion and use a pipe cleaner to cinch them together and make the antenna.
You can personalize this by using the school colors for the scrapbook flowers.
That’s it. Now arrange in a vase or wrap with a bow. What a sweet way to give money as a gift.
