A Good Nights Sleep

My bedroom is my favorite room in my house. When I walk in there I know my work is done, I can just relax. Usually I read before bedtime so it’s something I really look forward to. I try to make my bedroom a welcoming haven from the day.

The most important part, is the mattress. If you don’t have a good mattress sleep will be difficult and uncomfortable and lead to problems the next day. Keeping your mattress from sagging or developing a dip will go a long way in protecting the investment you’ve made in your mattress. If it is already sagging, it’s time for a new one. A sagging mattress holds your spine in an unnatural position all night leading to a backache in the morning.

Many of the newer mattresses aren’t designed to be flipped but still need to be rotated regularly to prevent a dip where your backside always sits.

A good sturdy bed frame with a center support will go a long way in extending the life of your mattress. Good support will keep it from sagging on the bottom which will lead to sagging on the top.

A memory foam topper is heaven. Even if you can’t afford a deluxe mattress the addition of a memory foam topper will make it feel deluxe.

To prevent wear and tear, make sure the kids aren’t using your bed as a trampoline. There really was a reason Mom didn’t want you jumping on the bed. Jumping can damage the springs and crack the frame leading to a lousy nights sleep for you.

Cover your mattress with a washable cover and vacuum it when you change the sheets. If your mattress becomes stained use upholstery shampoo to clean it.

Taking care of your mattress is essential to a good nights sleep. All those pillows are the cherry on top.
