Family Tree University is part of Family Tree Magazine. It isn’t an accredited college, but it does give genealogists lots of opportunities to learn something new about genealogy. They are offering a bunch of new courses that will start in September, or the end of August. Here is a little information about more of their courses.
A course called: “Creating a Family History Book: Guidance for Assembling and Printing a Family Keepsake” has two sessions that are about to begin. One starts on August 20, 2012, and ends on September 16, 2012. The other starts on September 17, 2012 and ends on October 14, 2012. The second one will be taught by Lisa Alzo, and the first one has a yet to be named instructor. It costs $99.99 to attend either session.
A course called “Digital Photography Essentials: Techniques to Capture and Preserve Your Family History” will begin on September 3, 2012, and end on September 30, 2012. This one also costs $99.99 to attend, and will be taught by Lisa Alzo. This course teaches you the basics of using digital cameras, photo editing software, and scanners in your genealogy work.
“First Steps: Using Birth Records” a short class that begins on September 3, 2012, and ends on September 16, 2012. This one only costs $39.99 to attend. It is also taught by Lisa Alzo. Learn the basics on how to find, analyze, and cite birth records of your ancestors who are from the United States.
A course called “First Steps: Using Census Records” has two sessions. One will begin very soon, on August 20, 2012. It will end on September 2, 2012. The other one will start on September 17, 2012, and end on September 30, 2012. Both are taught by Lisa Alzo. Each course costs $99.99. This is another course that is great for beginning genealogists.
A course called “First Steps: Using Marriage and Divorce Records” will also be done in two sessions. One session begins August 20, 2012, and lasts until September 2, 2012. The other starts September 17, 2012, and ends on September 30, 2012. It costs $39.99 to take this course. Each session will be taught by Lisa Alzo. This, like the course on Census Records, is another good one for the beginning genealogist.
These are just a few of the many courses that Family Tree University is offering soon. Genealogists who are interested in taking one, or more, of these courses should sign up right away. Each one will accept a limited number of students.
