A Clean Slate

Although most of us tend to consider the New Year as an opportunity to start with a clean slate, others look at the change of seasons as their chance for new beginnings. So now that we are on the verge of fall, perhaps it’s time you make this your clean slate.

With a clean slate you wipe away all of your past failures. It doesn’t matter what you did or didn’t do as far as exercise or eating right over the summer. This is a new beginning and a brand new opportunity to start again.

Think about the fact that you have the holidays coming up. Wouldn’t you like to go into them at your healthiest?

If you establish proper eating habits now and implement a regular exercise routine, it could make your ability to resist overeating and other temptations during the holiday season much easier.

Since it is fall, you have the opportunity to exercise inside or out. It’s not too hot, so you can enjoy a comfortable walk. This is especially nice once the leaves start to change colors.

But you can also choose to join a gym or workout in the comforts of your home. The choice is yours.

Just like you would set New Year’s resolutions, take advantage of the opportunity to set goals. What size would you like to be when Christmas rolls around? How many pounds would you like to lose?

How often do you want to exercise and for how long? What fitness programs do you want to try?

What are your motivations for starting off with a clean slate? Is it to increase your energy level? Get rid of back pain? Reduce stress?

Fitness isn’t just about eating right and exercising. So think about all of the other benefits you have with starting the fall season off right.
