Pretty, little, intricately handcrafted covers for 99-cent tape dispensers that are designed to be THROWN AWAY.
The tape dispensers that is. Clearly, you want to reuse the cuddly soft cozy you created to warm the cold plastic covering and disguise the unsightly green tartan plaid insert of any future tape dispensers that may enter your home.
This is so not my world.
If fact, I don’t even dabble on the outskirts of this world.
And by outskirts, I mean liking, pinning and re-pinning these types of DIY projects on various social media outlets.
Hey, I’m all for crafty mamas sharing their passion for homemade wares on the Internet. Just don’t look to me to ooh, ahh and “like” the heck out of your ability to design such incredible loveliness.
Call it envy. Actually, call it bewilderment.
Whereas I am in awe of the incredible talent showcased by women who are able to cover boring diaper pails with flocks of gold origami cranes and imported washi paper, I am more focused on how one finds the time to complete these projects than how to replicate them in my own home.
Instead of showing me how to make an adorable and nutritious Snoopy and Woodstock bento for my kid’s lunchbox, why not post step-by-step instructions on how to squeeze 39 hours worth of parenting, spousing and generating a paycheck into a 24-hour day?
Think of all the “likes” that would generate.
Because baking edible muffin tin monsters with strategically placed black sesame seed hair; sewing a fringed dress from multi-colored bath puffs and upcycling old turkey bones to create a one-of-a-kind chandelier is… so not my world.
