Genealogy Inspiration And Information On Pinterest

Pinterest is a fun and somewhat addictive website where users create online pinboards with images of things that they like. I like to visit the site a couple of times a week to get ideas for meals and for ideas for fun things to do with the kids. Today, I looked around on Pinterest and found that it can be a great site to visit when you need inspiration for your genealogy. Beautiful ideas for family photos, family photo displays, and other projects can be found there, as well as links to interesting genealogy blogs.

There are also beautiful ideas for genealogy – themed scrapbook pages and journals. I even saw a few memory box ideas. The variety of things on there is amazing, from cartoons and quotes to how – to’s and podcasts, if you want a little distraction from your research or you need some inspiration, Pinterest is definitely a good place to find it. There are even book suggestions, if you are looking for new genealogy – related reading material.

I especially enjoyed looking at artistic family history related projects. One of my favorites is a DIY family tree pendant, made of wire and colored beads. Did you know that you can even make gorgeous family yearbooks through online publishing sites? Ancestor trading cards? Yup. You can make those, too. If you are looking for genealogy – themed gift ideas, there’s a good chance that you can find something on Pinterest that will spark your creativity or point you in the direction of where to buy it.

Whether your current genealogy quest is one for inspiration or one for information, Pinterest just might have what you need. Be forewarned, though. You may want to set a timer for yourself because it is one of those web sites that is so jam packed with interesting things that before you know it, you could spend hours on there.
