Have you heard of the Story@Home conference? The very first one was held in March of 2012. It seems to have done well enough to become an annual event. Story@Home 2013 will happen in February of 2013. Are you going to attend?
The Story@Home conference, as you may have guessed from the name, is all about story. The conference gives genealogists a lot of good information about how to incorporate family history into their genealogy research. The conference is going to be hosted by FamilySearch, one of the most popular genealogy websites. They hosted the first Story@Home conference.
FamilySearch, as you are probably aware, is run by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As such, it should be no surprise that the Story@Home conference will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah. It will take place February 1, and February 2, of 2013.
If you want to go, you will need to register. Registration is now open. There are a limited amount of seats, so it is to your advantage to register early. According to FamilySearch, you can save $20.00 and register with the early bird discount on a full event pass if you do it before October 30, 2012.
The Story@Home Registration website has a few options for you. You can buy a ticket for the Full Event with the Early Bird discount for $59.00. There is a fee of $4.24. The early bird deal will end on October 31, 2012. After that, a ticket for the full event will cost $79.00. and the fee will be $5.34.
There is also the option to buy tickets for just one day of the event. You can buy a ticket for Friday, February 1, 2012, or a ticket for Saturday, February 2, 2012. Either way, the one day ticket will cost $49.00, and there will be a fee of $3.69.
If you sign up for the mailing list, you will get a free Story Starter download. You will also get news and updates on upcoming events. The mailing list is for Cherish Bound, who is another sponsor of the Story@Home conference.
This conference will change the way you see your family stories. It will help you to connect in new ways with the loved ones that you cherish most. There will be workshops, performances by award winning storytellers, speakers, and more. If you have just started your own genealogy blog, or want to improve your existing blog, the Story@Home conference can help inspire you, advise you, and get you going.
