Looking for a way to have fun at a baby shower and to entertain not only the mom-to-be, but also to just have a good time with the girls. Moms need the women in their lives and we need those girls’ nights out. You may not realize just how valuable those are right now, but the baby shower can be the first time you experience it. So here’s some games that can be a lot of fun to play at your baby shower or at a baby shower you are giving for someone else.
Baby Bingo
Get a few take away guest gifts and make up some bingo cards that feature baby gifts the mom to be may be getting at the shower. As she opens her presents, the guests should mark down the presents – when one fills in a row either horizontally, vertically or diagonally – they win one of the take home guest gifts.
Diaper Pin Blooper
This is a bit of a cutesy game. You pin a diaper pin to each guest as they come in. They have to avoid saying the word baby. If they say it during the shower, they have to give their pin to the person who caught them. Whoever ends the shower with the most pins wins the guest gift at the end of the party.
Playing Dress Up
This is a bit silly, but it can be fun. Get some dolls and some baby clothes. Pair off the partners and tie their right and left hands together. Then have them work together to dress the baby. The first couple to finish wins the guest prizes. If there is a tie – do a run off with blindfolds. It’s worth more than a few laughs.
I Never …
Ask guests to bring a roll of quarters to the shower. Sit around in a circle and put a piggy bank in the center. Each guest gets to say, I have never done x. If anyone in the circle has done what the first guest never has – they put one of their quarters into the piggy bank. It’s a humorous game that the girls get to enjoy and at the end you have a little savings bank going for the baby and you and your guests get to laugh together!
Nursery Rhymes
This is a great game to play while mom to be is opening her presents. It gives the guests something to do and it’s a lot of fun. Fill a jar with some lines from nursery rhymes or baby lullabies. When the guest draws out the slip, they have to sing or say the next line in the rhyme – give them a small prize for getting it right – say a five dollar gift card to Starbuck’s – or something along those lines.
