A Clever and Very Frugal Way to Use Torn Panty Hose

I am completely fascinated by new and useful ways to use items that have run their course, which you can probably tell by many of the articles that I write. When a friend recently showed me a new trick with some panty hose that had a tear in them, I was so excited to go home and try the same thing. So what was this clever, practical and very frugal thing she did?

Cleaning out a hairbrush is simply not fun, but it is sanitary and should be done regularly. It is so hard to get all of the hair out because it seems to wrap around the bristles of the brush and then it is hard to get off. But, if you have a pair of panty hose that has run its course, I now have a solution, or rather, my friend does.

The first step is to clean the brush. Remove all of the hair, and use soap and water to clean the bristles. Next, you will need to cut a section of the panty hose apart into the shape of your brush. It really does not matter if it is perfect or not, but you want the general shape and size. You will then need to push the piece of panty hose down onto the bristles of the hairbrush. You might need to use an item to help push it down all the way, like the handle of a toothbrush or a comb.

It might feel a bit strange the first couple of times that you brush your hair, but if you can get used to it, is the best way to clean your brush.

When you are ready to clean your hairbrush, now all you need to do is stand over a trash can, and pull the piece of panty hose up. All of the hair comes with it, and you can wash it quickly with soap and water and you’re finished. Don’t forget to replace the piece once it is washed and dried completely.

What a clever, frugal use for leftover panty hose. Do you have any tricks or secrets that will help us all save time or money?
