Are you trying to decide if co-sleeping is right for you and your baby? As a new Mom, I did not necessarily have a plan for what I was going to do. I did not have any experience with co-sleeping or not, but I knew that with my personality, I wanted my baby close to me in those first few weeks. I wanted to make sure she was breathing and respond to every little noise she made.
I was also a breastfeeding mom. This in itself comes with some challenges. But, I was also worried about the baby getting “lost” in the bed with myself and my husband, blankets, and pillows. The solution that worked for us was the Arm’s Reach Mini Co-Sleeper. This was my life saver.
It is like a bassinet, but has some added features. It attaches to your bed with straps. The side folds down to fit level with your mattress. So, the baby has their own space, but is super close. When I needed to nurse, I simply had to reach over and grab her and bring her into bed with me. Then, it was an easy transition to put her back in after nursing. The mini co-sleeper is small enough that it can easily fit into any bedroom, and it folds down with ease like a pack-n-play so that you can travel with it.
When my first was a baby, we traveled a lot while my husband was in graduate school. There was a time where we were away from her crib for 6 weeks straight, and this became her crib! There is storage beneath for easy access to extra blankets, sheets, etc. I can’t say enough good things about how much I love this little bed.
My second baby used it as well, although not as long. He was a fussier sleeper, and needed his own room and bed quicker than my daughter did. But, if you are thinking about having the baby in your room with you, I highly recommend this bed. You won’t be disappointed!
