A Day at the Zoo Part II

If a few birds could make my son run for and dive into the stroller, I could not imagine how he would react to some of the other larger animals. He did not want to get out of the stroller to look at the gecko so we continued the tour through the jungle like foliage. When we came upon some kind of exotic monkey, he promptly told us that he wanted out to see the monkey. He continued on foot to see the boa constrictor. He wanted to be carried when we came to another larger waterfall and some strange looking fish (I have no idea what kind of fish they were). We saw some more very colorful rainforest type birds. We were coming to the end of the indoor exhibit. My sisters try to get my son to smile for some photos with various fish. These fish tanks are filled with all kinds of colorful fish of all shapes and sizes. My son’s favorite fish so far is a smaller taller tank filled with very large grayish brown fish that are very bulbous. He seemed to be completely fascinated with their size and the fact that he could walk right up to the glass and come face to face with them. The indoor exhibit comes to an end with parrots. We have to get a picture with these beautiful birds in the background.

We head outside and it is still lightly raining. We see flamingos and black swans. The girls took turns holding their nephew up to see them. He ran to look at the wallabies. Then we went to see the sea lions. We saw them from an overlook and then followed a path that took us down to some viewing windows for an underwater look. Luck for us (my son and I) we saw two sea lions swim past the windows. My son was mesmerized. We were off to see the lions and tigers (there were no bears). That is when the baby decided that she wanted to see the animals too. We got a family picture (minus dad) outside the tiger’s cage. We stopped at an indoor bench so that I could give my daughter a quick snack…
