The good news is that some brilliant entrepreneur has just opened a hotel that provides one-of-a-kind childcare, so parents can enjoy some much needed R&R.
The bad news is that it’s located in South Africa.
Introducing the Baby Hotel.
The upscale property is getting high praise for its unique amenities. Namely, the fact that parents can check-in their children and be assured that their tots will be well cared for while they live it up somewhere else.
Technically, the Baby Hotel is more of a daycare service than an official hotel, but you wouldn’t know it by reviewing its services. For roughly $70 per night, the hotel will accommodate children up to the age of three. The property is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and offers amenities including meals, baths and even a little potty training for toddlers.
The hotel’s designer, a single mother of three, says she was inspired to open the lodging because she was frustrated by the lack of existing child care options available to parents who didn’t want to enroll their children in a full-time daycare facility.
The Baby Hotel doesn’t specify how long your child has to stay. If you want to get away with your spouse for a couple hours of uninterrupted romantic time or you must attend an overnight function, the Baby Hotel is willing to accommodate.
The hotel is a place parents can use on occasion, so they can complete simple tasks, such as shopping or getting a haircut, without worrying about their squirmy 11-month-old. The hotel’s manager recalls one mom using the property as a safe haven for her 21-month-old twins while she moved the family’s belongings into a new home.
And lest you think that dropping off children with complete strangers is a questionable act, consider that a second Baby Hotel is opening this year in Port Elizabeth.
The hotel is that popular.
Would you consider dropping off your kids at a Baby Hotel while you tended to other things?
