A New Way to Find Insurance

keyboard Soon, you might be looking for a new insurance policy in places that you never have before. The number of domain names has been expanded. Several new ones have been designed for use by insurance companies. This might give you some brand new options for the next time you are looking for insurance coverage.

Where do you go when you are trying to find an insurance plan? Some people get health insurance from their employer, and have no need to look elsewhere. The rest of us might look for health insurance with the insurer that we have a homeowners policy with. It is a great idea to have an insurance broker help you to find health insurance.

When it comes to auto insurance, many people look no further than the website of whatever insurance company they recently saw a commercial for. Some people go to the insurance company that they have a homeowners policy with, to see if they can get an auto insurance policy bundled with it. Those who are just getting started in their quest for insurance coverage might start with a Google search, and go from there.

Believe it or not, it is entirely possible for the internet to run out of domain names. Recently, the Internet Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) expanded the availability of domain names. The new ones are for the financial services industry. In other words, the new domain names are for banks and insurance companies.

Look up at the URL in your address bar. Somewhere in there, it will say .com. Most of the websites that you go to probably have .com or .org in their URL. Now, big companies can have their website address include domains like .bank or .lifeinsurance or even .insurance. The companies who already have a .com or .org address can keep it, or they can try and switch over to the new ones.

Will this change the way that you look for insurance? How many of you are going to seek out insurance companies who are using .insurance or .lifeinsurance instead of the ones who use .com? I cannot help but wonder if some consumers will be confused, at first, when they come across these new domain names. I also think that most people are just going to type in the name of their favorite insurance company, and pay little attention to the actual domain name that is attached to the website. Old habits tend to stick.
